Collaboration

EMEND began under the leadership of Dr. John R. Spence of the University of Alberta and Dr. Jan Volney, formerly of Canadian Forest Service. While the project is based out of the University of Alberta, it is a collaboration between numerous research agencies, the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta, and many forest companies that operate in northwestern Alberta including two key partners, Mercer Peace River Pulp Ltd. and Canadian Forest Products Ltd.
